The Institute was founded on a simple but powerful conviction: that leadership influence is not built by visibility alone, but by the formation of women whose character, competence, and credibility naturally command trust in rooms they may not yet be in.

Through structured leadership programs, thought leadership, and convenings such as The Referral-Worthy Woman Conference, the Purple Orchid Institute exists to cultivate women who lead with integrity, deliver measurable value, and build reputations that outlive their roles.

Purple Orchid is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and transforming young female professionals within Nigeria’s corporate and business ecosystem.

Founded in 2021 by Ijeoma Miriam Nwakuche, Purple Orchid was birthed from a divine vision — to nurture women who will rise to positions of influence, respect, and leadership by mastering the non-technical competencies that truly set professionals apart: ethics, professionalism, personal excellence, and strong interpersonal values.

The Purple Orchid

The Purple Orchid was founded in response to a pattern observed repeatedly in professional and leadership spaces.

Despite possessing talent and capability, many women continue to play small, constrained by limiting beliefs, cultural conditioning, and an underdeveloped understanding of the leadership capital required to access significant opportunities.

At the same time, the founder, Ijeoma Nwakuche, experienced a different trajectory in her own professional journey.
